Title Examiner Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Examines title searches in accordance with company procedures and local examining practices to determine the status of title.
  • Compiles reports from searched data and sends out a commitment based on status of title.
  • Analyzes deeds, mortgages, easements, judgments, taxes, liens, restrictions and other title matters.
  • Responds to requests from company employees, attorneys, consumers and customers regarding status of title.
  • From time to time, records original documents in the public record, making sure fees are correct and documents are properly executed.
  • Updates searches for closing and final policy preparation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to locate, accurately compile and interpret information affecting status of title to real property.
  • Ability to work effectively with others, meet deadlines and to perform tasks.
  • Ability to work with electronic records and navigate the property records online in several area counties.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and accountability, and an ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • A proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities

  • Licensed Title Insurance Intermediary in Wisconsin
  • 2 years searching and examining experience

Closing Coordinator Job Description

The person selected for this position will be responsible for coordinating closing services for residential real estate transactions. We specialize in producing and providing detailed, high quality title insurance services to our diverse spectrum of clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare closing statements and perform residential closings
  • Review and understand real estate conveyance documents
  • Market the company’s services to prospective customers
  • Review title insurance commitments and related documents
  • Collaborate with lenders, real estate agents, lawyers and other company employees on transactional and title issues encountered on specific transactions
  • Display excellent customer service skills to build strong relationships with customers
  • Run errands and travel to closings as needed
  • Coordinate construction draws as needed
  • Administrative duties including answering phones, responding to emails, entering orders, welcoming guests, electronically recording documents, scheduling appointments, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • One to two years of real estate transactional experience with direct customer contact
  • The ability to proactively address and resolve issues heading into a real estate closing
  • An understanding of basic real estate closing procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and accountability, and an ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong customer service, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • A proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities

Other Requirements:

  • Would be expected to obtain a title insurance intermediary license within three months of date of hire
  • Would be expected to become a notary to have the ability to conduct closings
